What is recomended memory, etc. for a laptop and desktop?
marius1997 asked:
I’m thinking about getting my wife a new laptop or desktop. What are the recomended specifications for each? It would be used for general word processing, internet, itunes, download some video. Nothing too intense though. I don’t know much about what everything means, but I can comparison shop to find the best deal. I just don’t know how much memory, hard drive, etc that I need.

Comparison Shopping Mortgage Lenders When Mortgage Refinancing
Louie Latour asked:
Choosing the right lender when refinancing will help you avoid spending too much for your mortgage. Many homeowners focus entirely on what their new payment amount will be when refinancing and overlook closing costs and interest rate markup. Here are several tips to help you avoid paying too much when refinancing your mortgage.
What Are Closing Costs When Refinancing?
Closing costs cover a wide range of fees including those paid to third parties. If you are required to pay points for the new mortgage you will pay these at closing. Points come in two varieties; there are the origination points you pay to the mortgage broker for arranging your loan and the “discount” points you pay the lender in exchange for a lower interest rate.
Paying discount points usually makes sense if you plan on staying in your home for a long time. Many homeowners overpay their origination points because they don’t know what a reasonable origination fee should be. If your broker charges you more than one point, or one percent of the loan amount for the origination fee, this is considered excessive.
Beware Yield Spread Premium When Mortgage Refinancing
Most homeowners have never heard of Yield Spread Premium and don’t know that their mortgage broker marks up their interest rate for a commission from the lender. This markup not only completely unnecessary because you’re already paying a perfectly reasonable origination fee for the broker’s services, but unethical because the majority of brokers conceal or try and explain away the markup.
How Does Yield Spread Premium Work?
When the wholesale lender approves your loan you qualify for a specific mortgage interest rate. Your broker knows this mortgage rate; although many pretend they do not know and mark the rate up to get a commission. For every quarter percent you agree to overpay the mortgage broker receives a commission of one percent of your loan amount. You get stuck paying an above market mortgage rate and the broker walks away with three times their commission.
You can avoid this unnecessary markup of your mortgage interest rate and refinance with a wholesale mortgage rate; you can learn more with a free mortgage toolkit.

Email to Fax Software Vs Web Services
Alex Cadens asked:
Sending an email to a fax through the use of a web based fax service or a software is becoming an ever more popular choice for both individuals and small businesses.
There are software applications that enable you to send and receive faxes from or to your email, such as Rightfax, GFIFax Maker or Mighty Fax. However, these software involve a considerable expense and they might not give you the flexibility and cost efficiency you are looking for. In fact, if you own a small business the use of these software might not be most cost effective way of sending and receiving faxes.
On the other hand there are simple software applications that you can download for free, and through the use of a web based fax service provider you can send emails to a fax, faxes to an email, or faxes to another fax, with one distinctive advantage: you can do this anywhere in the world.
The use of internet faxing services is growing in popularity at a staggering rate, and the reason for this phenomena is intimately linked to low cost and convenience, both distinctive characteristics of almost every email to fax web based service.
One of the features considered as “very convenient” by many is the fact that most of the internet fax providers offer the option of using their services for free for up to 30 days.
This is particularly important when you are among those who have never used an internet faxing service before, and therefore, you cannot be 100% sure it is right for you or your business until you “see with your own eyes”.
On the other hand, the fact that in some cases you will not even have to install a software in order to send an email to a fax and vice versa, makes it all the more appealing if you want to avoid tech related complications.
Furthermore, a web based fax service will spare you the need for a phone line, because usually you will have a toll free number included as part of the service (this varies from one provider to another), so this obviously adds to the convenience and savings.
